Dr. Sujatha Prabhakaran is Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida based in Sarasota, FL. Additionally she practices as gynecologic surgeon at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center and is an Affiliate Asst. Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Florida. Dr. Prabhakaran obtained her MD at the Medical College of Ohio in her hometown of Toledo, OH. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Wake Forest University and a fellowship in women’s health research/MPH (Health Policy and Management) at the University of North Carolina. Her research interests are family planning, particularly improving contraceptive access and reproductive health policy.
