Doctors Urge Congress to Respond to the Flint Water Crisis
The Flint water crisis is a health and human rights issue. As doctors and medical students across the country, we know that we cannot keep our patients healthy if the very water they drink is harmful. We also know that having access to health care is a critical component to monitoring and protecting the long-term health of Flint’s residents -- especially the children.
We are urging Congress to take the following actions:
- Approve federal funding to replace the lead pipes in Flint.
- Ensure that those who are affected get the care they need.
- Prioritize clean water for all communities
