Doctors for American Statement on 8 Million Newly Enrolled Americans

Doctors for America issued the following statement on the announcement 8 million Americans enrolled in the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Statement from Doctors for America Executive Director Dr. Alice Chen:

“Doctors across the country are applauding the news that 8 million Americans have new coverage. We know firsthand that each number represents a patient, friend, co-worker or neighbor who can finally sleep a little better at night knowing they are on a path toward a healthier, more financially secure future thanks to the Affordable Care Act. The numbers also underscore that the ACA is working. It is giving millions of middle class Americans the health care security they deserve, it is slowing the growth of health care costs and it has brought transparency and competition to the Health Insurance Marketplace. We are committed to continuing to educate our communities about the new benefits now available to them and reaching millions more people in the next enrollment period.”
