List Offers Step-by-Step Guide on Marketplace Enrollment
Washington, DC -- As healthcare.gov continues to improve and the vast majority of users have a smoother experience visiting the site, Doctors for America is ramping up enrollment outreach and releasing a step-by-step checklist to assist Americans with enrollment in the new Marketplace.
“As physicians on the frontlines of health care delivery, we know Americans desperately need care but many are confused or completely unaware of the new health insurance options,” said Doctors for America Executive Director Dr. Alice Chen. “That’s why we are mobilizing our grassroots network of doctors to educate the public on the Affordable Care Act and spread the word about the new benefits now available.”
Through the enrollment checklist, Americans can quickly identify the information they will need, read frequently asked questions and get tips on how to pick a plan that best fits their needs. The handout will be distributed during DFA’s education outreach at town halls, trainings, church groups, and community events through the period of open enrollment, October 1 – March 31, 2014.
Dr. Chen continued, “Doctors are one of the most trusted sources of information on health coverage. We won’t stop until we reach every uninsured American and get them covered.”
Doctors for America is the largest nationwide grassroots movement of physicians in history and is leading the way in communities across the country. Doctors are hitting the streets, talking to the community and educating people about the benefits available under the new health law. From coast-to-coast our doctors are delivering one message: coverage is good medicine.
