Washington, D.C. – Doctors for America today issued the following statement regarding the early enrollment numbers released by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Statement from Doctors for America Executive Director Alice Chen:
“Today’s early enrollment data indicates a clear need for quality, affordable health care. We know there is still much work to be done to reach the millions of uninsured Americans who are not aware of the new options now available.
“Coast-to-coast doctors are building the largest grassroots movement of physicians in history to spread the word about the benefits available during open enrollment and help people find the plan that best fits their needs. We want to make sure every uninsured person hears about enrollment from someone they trust - a health care provider.
“We know the stakes are high for the nation’s 45 million uninsured. We know coverage is good medicine. And we know we can’t let this once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform the lives of millions of people pass us by.”
Doctors for America is a national movement of physicians and medical students working together to improve the health of the nation and to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, high quality health care.
