Doctors for America Hosts Town Hall for Doctors and Medical Students on Governor’s Health Quality and Payment Reform Bill
BOSTON, MA – Governor Deval Patrick and his Secretary of Health and Human Services, Dr. JudyAnn Bigby, will speak at a town-hall gathering of local doctors and medical students organized by the Massachusetts Chapter of Doctors for America on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 5pm. Governor Patrick and Secretary Bigby will discuss their new health reform bill and will answer questions from over 300 physicians and medical students expected to attend.
“The Governor has proposed to fundamentally change the way medical care is paid for and delivered in this state “ said Dr. Lydia Siegel, a member of Doctors for America. “It is critically important that doctors participate in this effort. Doctors and medical students want to work together with the Governor and other state leaders to improve health care in Massachusetts.”
Doctors for America is a national, non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization of 15,000 physicians and medical students fighting for a system in which every American has equal access to quality healthcare. We envision a fair, effective and affordable healthcare system — one fundamentally transformed and guided by the core values of doctors and their patients.
