Washington, DC -- Doctors for America Board Member Shalini Pammal issued the following statement on the on the termination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program:
"Doctors for America is committed to our vision of a healthy America for everyone, and believes that every individual in this nation has a fundamental right to equitable, high-quality and affordable health care, and the opportunity to lead a healthy life. To that end, the recent decision to terminate the DACA program represents a rejection of the values that DFA holds dear. We remain steadfast in our commitment to first do no harm, and protect and advocate for those in our care-- the immigrant, undocumented, DACAmented and other affected patients in the communities we serve across the country. We stand in solidarity with these patients, today and always."
