See for yourself what happens
when physicians and medical students get directly involved
Visit to the White House
On Monday, October 5, President Obama invited practicing physicians from every state to the White House Rose Garden to show the nation the importance of health reform. Why? As the President said, "You are the people who know this system best. You are the experts. Nobody has more credibility with the American people on this issue than you do."

2. Tell Congress
President Obama's recognition this week of the need we feel for reform is a direct result of the involvement and engagement of Doctors for America across the country. But we need Congress to know that too. Take 5 minutes to call or write your representatives today.
3. Tell your Community
Not enough people know that physicians want health reform now. We know the system is broken, and we know we can do better. Use this event as an opportunity to write a letter to the editor of your local paper. We'll give you the information you need to do it.
For tips, see our Letter to the Editor Guide.
To the Editor:
On Monday, practicing doctors from all 50 states traveled to the White House to meet with President Obama and show that physicians support health reform.
As a physician / medical student here in (city, state), I agree with my colleagues. (Insert patient story or use the following text.) I see more and more insured patients worry about having their coverage dropped or being forced to cancel their insurance because premiums are skyrocketing. Other patients who are sick cannot get the treatments they need because they have lost their insurance.
Surely, we can do better. As the President recognized on Monday, I took an oath to take care of people, but the system is not working for me or my patients. That's why we need health reform now.
And that's why I stand with physicians across this country in support of health reform this year.
Sincerely,
Doctor X
