WASHINGTON, DC—On the eve of a critical health reform vote, Doctors for America announced that they endorsed Affordable Health Care for America Act (HR 3962) in a letter sent to Speaker of the House Pelosi earlier this week. This is the first time Doctors for America has ever endorsed legislation.
“As doctors and medical students, we see the urgent need to fix our broken health care system first hand everyday which is why a majority of physicians support health reform this year. We are fighting to ensure that all Americans receive access to high quality care - the kind of care that we, as physicians, want for our patients,” wrote Dr. Vivek Murthy in the letter endorsing the bill.
“Physicians have been asking for health reform that will fix our broken health care system and help to improve quality and access to care for our patients. We believe the House bill will do just that and we are committed to fighting for reform so that President Obama can sign health reform legislation into law this year,” said Executive Director, Mandy Krauthamer Cohen.
