Washington, DC -- Doctors for America issued the following statement on the Senate approval of a budget resolution to begin repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
Statement from Doctors for America Executive Director Dr. Alice Chen:
“Doctors and patients are frightened about the implications of repealing healthcare for millions of Americans,” said Executive Director Dr. Alice Chen. "In every state and community, doctors are caring for fellow Americans who are finally able to get the care they need for their diabetes, opioid addiction, asthma, and cancer. That means people are getting back on their feet and leading productive lives. The rush to repeal without showing us a plan for reducing costs and increasing access is unacceptable. Doctors and medical students urge Congress to protect our patients’ care and ensure they aren’t left without access to lifesaving coverage.”
Doctors for America mobilizes doctors and medical students to be leaders in putting patients over politics on the pressing issues of the day to improve the health of our patients, communities, and nation.
