About the Blogger

Alice Chen is an internal medicine hospitalist and an assistant professor at UCLA. She received her undergraduate degree from Yale and her medical degree from Cornell. She completed her internal medicine residency at UCLA.  She has been one of the organizers of Doctors for America since 2008 and recently became its Executive Director. Her passion for health advocacy comes from the patients she meets who suffer for lack of access to care.  Her work with Doctors for America is inspired by the colleagues she meets from every corner of the country who are driven to devote their time to being a part of the solution.   She grew up in California and has interests in international health, environmentalism, and playing her violin.
